I agree with the author about that a citizen who is brave to die for another person whos younger than himself sould b recognized a hero for trying to save childs life. I agreed because a lot of times this happens around the world were someone dies trying to protect someone they miht or mightnot know. In this town the fellow neighbors were comforting the mother of the child becuase since her son means a lot to her she will do what any mother will do to get her son back. The kidnapper jimmy dikes was actually prepared to kidnap a child for some sort of reason it lo says that he was a veteran of the vietnamar and most of those veterans have mental problems because of what they saw during the war that made them crazy and do things that they might have never one.
The kidnapper jimmy had a criminal record and of being anti government and opposing what the law says. Jimmy was seen coming back and forth from the bunker he was making, many of the neighbors saw him walk there at night bringing stuff with him every time. the boy jimmy has hostage has aspergers syndrome making it hard for his mother if h were to die being locked up in the same place all day and not being able to do nothing might make his brain get worse. So i would agree that bus driver poland did his best to protect the children and to do the right thing even though he couldnt protect that one child but he protected 21 more so they could go to safety so he was a true hero.
